Day 113 (Tuesday 2/24)

I got up early this morning and had great intentions of hitting the gym for a good, long workout. Well the zit on my face had other plans....yep I let a silly, little (I should say BIG!) zit get in the way of my long workout. I decided since this shiner decided to pop during the night I had to do something about it. My Mom always said bathing it in HOT (so hot you can hardly stand it) water helps reduce the swelling and draws out the icky stuff. And over the years her theory has proven true, so let's hope it does once again!

So by the time I was done with my zit I got dressed and hit the gym for a measly 15 minute run. Now I know that it better than nothing at all, but I am a little disappointed with myself, especially to do that on a wi day nonetheless!

Anyway...enough of that!

My breakfast this morning was my "old faithful" oatmeal and an apple for 3 points. I don't know if I'll ever get sick of eating oatmeal and fruit in the morning!

My mid morning snack was WW yogurt with 1/4 c grape nuts for 2 points. MMmmm!!

Around 11am today I got a call from DH asking of I had his car keys in my purse. (I drove it yesterday) and lo and behold, I did...eeekkk!! And he was supposed to be at work at 10am!! Oh no!! He didn't seem too upset though. We aren't having good luck with cars lately...silly us!

I planned to take a late lunch to get the keys to DH when he was finished with his shift so around 1pm I had a small banana for 1 point. I headed home for lunch and handed over DH's keys! I felt so bad!! I didn't want to eat too much because I knew wi was only a few hours away. So I made some cauliflower with ff cheese and peeled an orange for 2 points.

After work I headed to ww. I had mixed feelings, I wasn't sure what to expect on the scale. Sometimes the ww scale is higher than mine at home, sometimes it's lower. So I hopped on the scale and it said 167.2...was happy with that. That means I lost 2.6lbs this week and 34.4 total for ww! I hope to cross the 35 lb mark at ww next week! Our leader was talking about tracking a lot tonight and if you're tired of tracking to try the "Simply Filling Plan". Well I am definitely not sick of tracking...I think I enjoy it. But I really want to focus on eating more "filling foods"!

After the meeting I headed home and got to work making supper. I wanted to make corn chowder, but sadly my only three potatoes were in pretty sad shape. So I went to my other new recipe I wanted to make and had chicken teriyaki with broccoli for 5 points. While that was cooking a snacked on a few reduced fat ritz crackers for 3 points. I am not sure if I made the chicken teriyaki right 'cause it was just "ok"...I like it more "saucy"! So I'll try something a little different next time!
Here is the recipe from the WW website:
Chicken Teriyaki with Broccoli
POINTS® Value: 5 - Servings: 4
Preparation Time: 20 min - Cooking Time: 13 min Level of Difficulty: Easy
We paired this Japanese favorite with a side of broccoli for a burst of color and a huge nutrient boost. Grab some chopsticks and dig in.

  • 1 spray(s) cooking spray

  • 2 medium garlic clove(s), minced

  • 1 pound(s) uncooked boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes

  • 4 medium scallion(s), chopped (green and white parts)

  • 1/2 cup(s) fat-free chicken broth

  • 2 tbsp teriyaki sauce

  • 2 cup(s) cooked brown rice, regular or instant, kept hot

  • 4 cup(s) broccoli, fresh, florets, steamed*

Instructions

  • Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray and set pan over medium-high heat. When hot, add garlic; cook, stirring, about 1 minute. Add chicken; cook until golden brown on all sides, stirring often, about 5 minutes.

  • Add scallions; cook until soft, stirring, about 2 minutes. Add broth and teriyaki sauce; simmer until chicken is cooked through and sauce reduces slightly, about 5 minutes.

  • Spoon 1/2 cup of cooked rice into each of 4 shallow bowls; spoon about 1 cup of chicken mixture and 1/2 cup of broccoli over each serving.

While watching the Biggest Loser I had my dessert, a ww fudge bar for 1 point.

Well I have 6 points l/o for the and I am TOTALLY FULL from my "filling" supper so I think I am not going to eat them. Hopefully I don't wake up famished!!

Awesome weigh in! And kudos for getting in the 15minute run when you could have skipped it completely!
Just curious what kind of oatmeal do you eat?
Looking at your food eats makes me realize that it's a good thing I'm getting back to measuring, weighing. Sometimes I don't count enough points, and sometimes I think I overcount.

Great weigh-in!

I'm kind of in the same "rut" you're in with breakfast, except I have a banana instead of an apple. It's filling, it's fast, and it's tasty. why mess with success? :)
