Made it to the gym again this morning. And again my sister & her hubby were there! I think I might have new gym buddies! I'm excited too because her husband is all about lifting and I am hoping he can come up with a good weight routine for me to do. I haven't done any weights so far and know that it would definitely benefit me to add those to my workout routine.

So last night I was watching the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and just thinking to myself how stinking' skinny those girls looked and then I read "Fifty Eight Day Challenge's" post this morning...kinda ironic! It's sad that those are the images that young girls are trying to replicate in themselves. But for some reason for me it just makes me want to work that much harder to get into shape. So I think there's two sides to it. On the news they were talking about it and how it is such a bad image for girls to look up to, but then someone else pointed out that a huge portion of our country is overweight....interesting point! And these girls are also more "curvy" than traditional runway models. So what do you think?

So I just realized this last night, 1 c of cucumbers are 0 points!! I was pretty excited, I've been counting it as 1 point this whole time! (just thought I would share that!)

I really am not able to see the difference yet in how I look 13.5 lbs lighter, but I've gotten 2 comments in the past day. One from my sister last night at the gym, she said "Your face is really starting to look a lot thinner" and then a co-worker (who doesn't know I'm trying to lose weight) stopped by my office and said "Darci you look really skinny today, are you losing weight?". It's great to hear those comments, really makes all the time & effort worth it! I just can't wait till I can see the difference.

I want to thank Sandy at A Working Mom's Joy for so very kindly nominating me for the Marie Antoinette Award which honors people writing about their real lives. I have to agree with Sandy, I also am humbled by this award. Thanks girl!!

In the one month that I have been a part of the "blogging community" I really have gained so much from writing this blog. I think I have learned a lot about myself and LOVE the encouragement everyone gives eachother. It definately keeps me "in check"! I think we all really put ourselves out there posting about the battles & victories that encounter on this journey. I know I have been so inpired by SSSOOO many of you!

Here are The Rules:

Thanks for the nomination :)
Personally, I think that Victoria's Secret models have come a long way. I think that years ago they were just like every other runway model-rail thin. But I think that in years past they have more muscle tone and curves. But still, they aren't the ideal body type for me :) Other runway models on the other hand...whose photographs dominate anorexic and bulemic girls' blogs...are not appealing to me at all.

I'm amazed to see how you use your points. I use em all up and have nothing to show for it, but you eat all this yummy food with 22 points! Ok I am seriously changing up my menu.

I'm happy celebrating all our shapes and sizes, but my heart will always be with the curvy girls! :)

Congrats on the great compliments you're receiving. It certainly puts a bounce in your step for the day, doesn't it?

Have a great weekend!
